I have a hamster and my dad dosent know, what do i do?

i have a hamster, and after 4 days she escaped. I want to tell my dad but im scared he gonna hit me and yell at me, and im sad that he might be stressed out after he tries to find it, because then the hamster might die and spread germs and bacteria everywhere. :[
